Would you rather be you or have been born a Rockefeller?

Do you wish you had more money?

Mainstream society pushes that value on us. Many of us adopt it. Even when someone suggests questioning having more stuff or money, many people still say they’d rather have more.

Let me break it down to the foundation:

Would you rather be yourself or to have been born a Rockefeller?

If you were born a Rockefeller, you would have been born with more money than almost anyone.

How good that makes your life is another question.

If you’d rather be someone else than yourself, you have a problem, but not imposed by others. Most people I’ve talked to about their values live their values better than anyone else. If you live by your values better than anyone else, you’d rather be you than anyone else. After all, they don’t measure up as well as you to your values. You value them less and yourself more, no matter how rich they are.

If you’d rather be someone else, you can improve your life with things that cost nothing, mainly by living according to your values, based in awareness. If you don’t live your values as well as others, you can improve your life by aligning your behavior to your values. No one can do that for you. What are you waiting for?

How great is being a Rockefeller?

Do you think they have things they aspire to but can’t afford?

Do you think other people don’t look at you and wish they had what you have? Or think you take for granted things they don’t have?

Do you think they don’t get sick?

Do you think people they love don’t die with them watching helplessly?

How does everything else compare if you have to deal with these parts of life?

If you’d rather be you than one of the richest people in the world, how much more can you enjoy life?
