I will Caring about the environment means realizing the interdependence of nature and human well-being. While living in a city that provides services like a public transportation system and recycling plants I think that since living here I produce too much trash. Over the next month I will be testing bringing my own ceramic coffee mug after experiencing that 1) many coffee shops refuse to fill my stainless steel travel mug or use a paper cup to make the drink before pouring it into my travel mug and 2) at many meetings only paper cups are available. This is frustrating, as these cups are lined with plastic and cannot be recycled. I saw real degradable cups only once at a meeting. This simple step will potentially save 5 to 10 cups per week from going into the landfill.
