Announcing This Sustainable Life: Untethered, a new podcast in the growing family from Leadership and the Environment, hot on the heels of Leadership and the Environment: Sweden. The new one is hosted by Alison May, based in London.
A quick explanation of the name: I’m about to change the name Leadership and the Environment to This Sustainable Life: Josh’s Adventures in Stewardship. Rather than switch Alison’s title shortly after starting, she’s debuting the new brand and logo.
Why a family of podcasts?
This Sustainable Life: Untethered is part of a growing family that started with Leadership and the Environment.
We want to act sustainably, just rarely first—that is, we crave leadership. With nearly 8 billion people, one podcast can’t reach everyone. I train people who want to lead their communities in the style of my podcast. Andreas started an offshoot in Stockholm for the Swedish community. I’m not Swedish so he’s reaching and leading a new audience.
Alison lives an untethered lifestyle—see the picture below—and wants to reach and lead her community of people living not so mainstream as many of us. I’m about to start my twenty-second year in my apartment, which I would say makes me tethered, despite the wanderlust of my youth.
So she’s reaching a new audience! Do you live an untethered life? Do you want to? Get to know Alison! Subscribe to her podcast too.
You’ll find her more youthful and dynamic than me, I believe. She let me quote how she announced it to me, figuring everyone would get her playful style:
I’d like to introduce you to the brand new podcast, This Sustainable Life: Untethered. So brand new it’s still smoking, hot and sexy off the press just published today!

The first two episodes
The first two episodes feature me as her first guest. She walks me through sharing my environmental values and acting on them with a sustainability commitment. You get to hear me on the receiving end of my technique. Do you think I succeeded, failed, loved it, hated it, or what?
I’ll tell you what I loved: Alison’s leading me through the process and giving me the chance to share my experience in a way I can’t when hosting others.
Her second episode covers me sharing my results.
Actually, I can embed the episodes. Here they are, but go to her page and subscribe there too.
