The problem with “dependence on foreign oil”
American politicians promote drilling and pumping oil to solve “dependence on foreign oil.” They think the key word in the phrase is foreign so they drill in the US.
The key word is dependence. To increase our independence, freedom, and resilience, they should decrease our dependence on any oil, especially fossil fuels. We all should.
Are the domestic images below that much preferable than the overseas one? Do they have different causes or do they result from one system?
