More Sunday donations revealing how much stuff people throw away, often brand new

In July I posted about how much clothing and sundries I donate from what neighbors were throwing away in Sunday’s donations reveal how much stuff people throw away, often brand new.

Well, two days ago was the next free market event, where anyone can donate anything and take anything and I brought more clothes, pots, pans, sunglasses, and so on that I find. I’m not sure if you can see, but many of the clothes still have tags on them. Unloading the cart takes several minutes.

I was pleasantly surprised that just as the video started, someone recognized me and said hi. I’m known for donating a bunch. I don’t spend any time or money acquiring the stuff for donation. I just find it walking around, bring it home, and keep it until the next free market event.

Our culture feels like a human body in which we keep shoving energy into it, more than it needs or can handle. As a body stores the energy as fat and becomes obese because there’s no place else for it to go, so does our culture become burdened with waste, which becomes toxic. People think if they buy too much they’ll be good people by donating it, but no, they just promote more toxic waste.

Here’s the big picture, or an illustration of it:
