Elon Musk wrote a few months ago, “Those without children lack a stake in the future.”
He implies he has a stake in the future for having kids. On the contrary, if you want to know who does not have a stake in the future, people who build doomsday bunkers. They are at best hedging their bets.
A quick search showed
- Mark Zuckerberg built bunkers in Hawaii, Palo Alto and Lake Tahoe
- Elon Musk in Texas compound
- Sam Altman
- Jeff Bezos
- Peter Thiel
- Andrew Tate
and many others are betting against humanity. There’s a whole industry of people betting against you.
What do you know, my search turned up a book on this topic by podcast guest Doug Rushkoff, Survival of the Richest: Escape Fantasies of the Tech Billionaires. I’ll have to check it out.
In the meantime, people building bunkers are betting against you.
