Do we want diverse groups dominating and oppressing other diverse groups or to stop domination and oppression?

I am working to identify how dominance hierarchies form in order to remove them.

I see many people promoting enabling unrepresented people to reach the top of dominance hierarchies. I don’t see them learning how dominance hierarchies form so I don’t see them developing ways to remove the domination from dominance hierarchies. As long as they aren’t undoing the domination, when they promote more people who haven’t been represented at the top of dominance hierarchies to reach the top, they are implicitly saying they want more people who haven’t been represented at the bottom to reach the bottom.

The result is no decrease in domination, coercion, and oppression, just for those results to be distributed more randomly. I suppose in a sense that outcome has advantages to people being oppressed by some accident of birth, but don’t we want less dominance hierarchy?

Don’t we want differences not to determine access to resources or ability to harm others with impunity?

Don’t we want people not to be able to coerce people through control over material resources or ability to deny them safety, justice, or other necessary resources?
