We have never decreased using any fuels. When we find new energy sources, we use the old one and the new one. Our plans to increase solar and wind have nothing to do with lowering fossil fuel use.

This ordering doesn’t work:

1. First: Figure out how to create energy without fossil fuels or destroying life, liberty, and property
2. Then: Stop using fossil fuels, nuclear, and destroying life, liberty and property

The only ordering which can work:

1. First: Stop using fossil fuels, nuclear, and destroying life, liberty and property
2. Then: Figure out how to create energy without fossil fuels or destroying life, liberty, and property

(Though, according to Adam Smith and the US founders, we don’t need to create new energy sources to create the most opulent society or a more perfect union)

Stop thinking or acting as if increasing solar, wind, nuclear, or any other source improves our environmental situation

Stop thinking or acting as if increasing solar, wind, nuclear, or any other source improves our environmental situation. Only polluting and depleting less reduces polluting and depleting.

You can pollute and deplete less. We all can. The nation and world can.

We can return to zero polluting or depleting, as our ancestors thrived doing for 250,000 years.
