on October 19, 2018 in Podcast

Chris does things. He does incredible things and I urge you to check out his web page and read some of the things that he does. I allude to it in the conversation but check it out for yourself. But he’s still humble and simple despite doing these incredible things. So if the part of the reason you’re here is you like my burpees or my avoiding food packaging or[…] Keep reading →

World Burpee Day

on October 12, 2018 in Fitness, SIDCHAs, Visualization

It turns out some people or advertisers decided to make October 12 World Burpee Day. Given my thing with burpees, I decided to play the game and post about it to see if my more than 110,000 burpees over 2,487 consecutive day wins me something. I found a few articles with headlines suggesting people barely getting started: I Did 30 Burpees For 15 Days and Here’s What Happened This Is[…] Keep reading →

Sometimes the practice involves hard things and things you don’t feel like doing but[…] Keep reading →

People associate so-called cardiovascular exercise with losing weight. I’ll grant that those exercises can burn through a lot of calories. I’ve come to doubt their[…] Keep reading →

My tenth anniversary of swimming across the Hudson, August 9, 2018

on August 9, 2018 in SIDCHAs, Stories

On Saturday, August 9, 2008, I left my apartment first thing in the morning after watching the Olympics opening ceremony at a bar with friends the night before, walked to my friend Dave’s apartment, caught a ferry to New Jersey, and swam across the Hudson River back to Manhattan. Then we walked back shirtless and shoeless from 45th Street to Greenwich Village. You’ve seen the picture at the top of[…] Keep reading →

Welcome to conversation number two with John Lee Dumas. You’re going to hear how John Lee Dumas inspired me, how he’s acting on his commitment.
